These are the call out/operations reports for the team.  They will be updated with information as the year progresses.

JANUARY 2009

THURSDAY 01 JANUARY STANDBY GLENARIFF, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was placed on standby for the Annual Glenariff Fell Run.  No incidents to report.

MONDAY 05 JANUARY CALLOUT MOURNE MOUNTAINS, CO. DOWN

The Team was tasked to assist the PSNI MRT in the search of a missing "tourist" in the Mourne Mountains.  The Search was later declared a hoax.

SATURDAY 17 JANUARY CALLOUT ROSTREVOR, CO. DOWN

The Team was tasked to assist the PSNI MRT in the search of a missing person in Kilbroney Forest Park.  The missing person was located deceased a short time later.

FRIDAY 23 JANUARY CALLOUT PORTGLENONE, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was called out to respond to reports of a missing person within Portglenone Forest.  The missing person was located deceased within a short period of time.

FEBRUARY 2009

MONDAY 09 FEBRUARY STANDBY CULLYBACKY, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was placed on standby to respond to a missing person search.  The Team was stood down a short time later as the missing person was located deceased by local PSNI.

TUESDAY 10 FEBRUARY CALLOUT LUGNAQUILLA, CO. WICKLOW

5 members of the Team assisted the Glen of Imal & Dublin-Wicklow MRT's in the search of 2 climbers lost on Lugnaquilla Mountain in Co. Wicklow.  The 2 climbers were located by members of the North West & Mourne Mountain MRT just after midday. 

MARCH 2009

MONDAY 2 MARCH CALLOUT KEADY, CO ARMAGH

The Team was tasked to assist the PSNI MRT in the search of a missing person in Co. Armagh.  The missing person was later found safe and well.

SUNDAY 15 MARCH CALLOUT, SLIEVE BEAGH, CLOGHER VALLEY, CO. TYRONE

The Team’s West Section evacuated an injured mountain biker off Slieve Beagh. The injured biker was treated and transported to a waiting ambulance.

TUESDAY 17 MARCH CALLOUT, SLEMISH MOUNATIN, CO. ANTRIM

The Team responded to an injured walker with a lower leg injury taking part in the annual St. Patrick’s Day walk on Slemish Mountain.  The injured walker was carried by stretcher to a waiting ambulance.

APRIL 2009

MONDAY 13 APRIL CALLOUT, CUILCAGH MOUNTAIN, CO. FERMANAGH

The West Section of the Team evacuated an injured walker off Cuilcagh Mountain. The injured walker was treated and transported to car.

THURSDAY 16 APRIL CALLOUT, TROSTAN MOUNTAIN, CO. ANTRIM

The Team responded to a request from the PSNI to assist in the search for a missing Duke of Edinburgh group on Trostan Mountain.  The group later was located using mobile phone and directed of the Mountain.  They were then picked up on the roadside safe and well.

     MAY 2009

SATURDAY 2 MAY STANDBY, MISSING PERSON, CO FERMANAGH

The Team was placed on standby for a possible search in Fermanagh.  The Team was later stood down.

25 MAY 2009, CALLOUT, STANDBY CO. DONEGAL

The Team was placed on standby by the Donegal MRT to assist in a search for a missing person on Donegal. Team stood down a short time later.

JUNE 2009

8 JUNE CALLOUT, ANIMAL RESCUE, NORTH ANTRIM COAST, CO ANTRIM

The Team was tasked by the PSNI to rescue an animal trapped on a ledge. The Animal was successfully recovered.

19 JUNE CALLOUT, MOURNE MOUNTAINS, CO. DOWN

The Team responded to a request from the PSNI to assist in the search for a missing person in the Mourne Mountains. The missing person later turned up safe and well.

19 JUNE CALLOUT, FAIRHEAD, BALLYCASTLE, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was tasked by the PSNI to respond to an injured walker on Fairhead. Team was stood down by MCA en-route.

     JULY 2009

25 JULY, CALLOUT, CROAGHPATRICK, CO. MAYO 

The Team was tasked by the Mayo MRT to assist an injured walker on Croaghpatrick. The Team along with other IMRA teams located, treated and evacuated the casualty.

     AUGUST 2009

10 AUGUST, STANDBY, CO. DONEGAL 

The Team was placed on standby by the Donegal MRT to assist in the search and evacuation of 2 injured and missing persons. Team stood down a short time later.

13 AUGUST, CALLOUT, KILLINCHY CO. DOWN 

The Team was tasked by the PSNI to assist in a missing person search in Killinchy, Co Down. The Missing person was located safe as the Team arrived

20 AUGUST, CALLOUT, STRANOCUM, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was tasked by the PSNI to assist in a missing child in Stranocum, Co Antrim. The NWMRT was stood down by the NIFRS on arrival at the scene.

22 AUGUST, CALLOUT, STRANOCUM, CO. ANTRIM

The Team was tasked by the PSNI to assist in a missing child in Stranocum, Co Antrim. A body was located and the Team was requested by the PSNI to recover the body and carry it to a roadhead.

SEPTEMBER 2009

5 SEPTEMBER 2009, STANDBY, BENEVENAGH MOUNTAIN, LIMAVADY

19 SEPTEMBER 2009, CALLOUT, GELNCOLUMKILLE, CO DONEGAL

The Team responded to a request from the Donegal MRT to assist in the search of a missing person. Team tasked its search dog and handler through SARDA (IN).

20 SEPTEMBER 2009, STANDBY, MOURNE MOUNTAINS

The Team was placed on standby by the Mourne MRT to assist in a rescue of an injured walker. Team stood down a short time later.

OCTOBER 2009

20 OCTOBER CALLOUT, MISSING PERSON, BALLYCASTLE, CO ANTRIM

The Team responded to a request from the PSNI to assist in the search for a missing person in Ballycastle.

21 OCTOBER CALLOUT, MISSING PERSON, BALLYCASTLE, CO ANTRIM

The Team responded to a request from the PSNI to assist in a further search for a missing person in Ballycastle.

NOVEMBER 2009

12 NOVEMBER CALLOUT, REPORTS OF AIRCRAFT CRASH, MONEA VILLAGE, CO FERMANAGH

The Team was tasked to respond to a request from the PSNI to assist them and other emergency services in the search for a missing aircraft reported to have crashed. Searches were conducted and no wreckage was found. Search was call of some hours later as no aircraft had been reported missing.

21 NOVEMEBR CALLOUT, MISSING PERSON, COOKSTOWN, CO. TYRONE

The team was tasked undertake a search for a missing person in the Cookstown area. The missing person was located safe and well.

22 NOVEMBER, CALLOUT, MISSING PERSON, DUNGANNON, CO TYRONE

The team responded to its second callout in 12 hours for the search for a vulnerable missing person in the Dungannon area. Nothing was found in the initial searches and matter was left with PSNI.

28 NOVEMBER, CALLOUT, MISSING PERSON, KILLADRES, CO. FERMANAGH

The team was tasked to undertake a search for a missing person. A body was later found in the Fermanagh lakes. 

28 NOVEMBER, CALLOUT, INJURED PERSON, CAVEHILL, BELFAST, CO. ANTRIM

The team was tasked to respond to an injured mountain biker on Cavehill. The team was stood down as the Fire & Rescue Service were dealing with the incident.

DECEMBER 2009

1 DECEMBER, CALLOUT, ANIMAL RESCUE, ANTRIM GLENS, CO. ANTRIM

The team was asked to assist a local farmer in the recovery of a sheep trapped on a cliff edge. The Team successfully guided the sheep to safety.

5 DECEMBER, CALLOUT, INJURED PERSON, BOHO, CO. FERMANAGH

The Team was tasked to locate, treat and extract an injured farmer in the Boho area of Co. Fermanagh.
