Formed in 1980, the North West Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary organisation that provides a search and rescue service, which operates in mountainous or remote areas of Northern Ireland, in particular the Sperrin Mountains, Co. Fermanagh and the Antrim Plateau.
The NWMRT aims to assist in the prevention of the loss of life or injury in mountainous or rural areas by attempting the search for and rescue of groups or individuals who are endangered whilst in the outdoor environment.
Should you wish help or contribute to the work of the North West Mountain Rescue Team why not join the North West Mountain Rescue Association (NWMRA), which has been set up to provide a support structure to the Team. If you are interested in joining the NWMRA or would like more information please visit North West Mountain Rescue Association. |
